Who we are

OttoCAM is made by Amygdaloid LLC, a company registered in the United States. "We" and "us" in this policy mean Amygdaloid LLC.

This website

This site uses PostHog to measure how it's used: page views, referrers, and clicks on things like the waitlist and download buttons. PostHog stores an anonymous identifier in your browser to tell visits apart; the data is not tied to your name or email, and it is processed in the United States.

The site also stores two small values in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme choice, and whether you joined the waitlist (used only to adjust a counter on the page). Neither is sent anywhere.

The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) as part of operating the service. See the Netlify privacy policy.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you enter. We use it to tell you about OttoCAM's launch and progress, and for nothing else. We don't sell it or share it. Ask us to remove it at any time and we will.

Analytics in the app — opt-in only

The desktop app collects no analytics unless you opt in. On first run it asks; until you answer yes, nothing is captured. Your answer is stored locally on your machine.

If you opt in, the app sends anonymous usage events, for example:

• the app started, and its version
• a part was imported, toolpaths were generated, G-code was exported
• a generation failed, and the class of failure

These events carry counts, flags, and error categories — never your part geometry, project files, file names, or file contents. There is no session recording and no automatic click tracking, and events are not tied to your name or email (the app has no account to tie them to). Events are processed by PostHog, hosted in the United States.

Bug reports

Bug reports are sent only when you press send. A report includes what you typed (summary, description, notes) plus technical context: app version, operating system, error details, and the tail of the engine log.

Attaching your project is optional and off by default. If you choose to include it, the project file (your part and its settings) is uploaded so we can reproduce the problem. Reports become issues in our private bug tracker, and attached projects are stored privately alongside them — neither is public. If you want an attached project deleted, ask and we'll delete it.

To keep the bug-report endpoint from being flooded, we keep short-lived rate-limit counters keyed by IP address. They expire on their own and are not used for anything else.

What we never collect

• Your parts, projects, or G-code — unless you attach a project to a bug report
• Payment information (there is nothing to buy yet)
• Anything from your machine while analytics is opted out
